How To Compare Two PDFs - Spot Visual Differences
When a vendor sends back a redlined contract or a designer ships v2 of a brochure, the first question is: what actually changed? Manually diffing two PDFs page by page is tedious and error-prone.
Compare PDFs places two PDFs side by side, pixel-diffs every page, and flags the ones that differ.
Pixel Vs Text Diff
Compare PDFs does pixel comparison. Every page is rendered and the rendered images are diffed. This catches every visual difference - text changes, repositioned graphics, color changes, font swaps.
What it doesn't do is tell you the specific text that changed. For semantic text-diff ("this word was deleted, this paragraph was added") use a dedicated text-diff tool. Pixel diff is for visual changes; text diff is for content changes.
Handling Different Page Counts
If the two PDFs have different page counts, the extra pages are flagged as added or removed. The aligned pages are diffed normally. The report tells you which pages are which.
How To Compare
Open Compare PDFs. Drop both files - the first is treated as the baseline. Click Compare. The browser renders every page, computes the pixel diff, and flags pages with a percentage difference.
Save the diff report as a PDF for your records or to share with whoever made the changes.
Privacy
Both PDFs stay on your device. Comparison runs entirely in your browser.
Stop manually diffing PDFs. Compare PDFs does it in seconds, free, no upload.
